Delgado Hanging Em' Up?

The former New York Mets, Florida Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays slugger might be calling it quits after a long illustrious career. According to one newspaper in Puerto Rico, Delgado is considering hanging up the spikes if he doesn't get an adequate contract offer. Over the past 17 seasons, Delgado has been regarded as one of the leagues most feared left handed hitters, and has hit 473 home runs and racking up 1,512 RBI's. Teams around baseball are unsure whether or not to take a risk on the 37 year old veteran first baseman, considering he only played in 26 games last season due to a season ending hip surgery in May.

This winter Delgado has only played in 8 winter league games for the Gigantes de Carolina where he hit .280 with 1 home run and 8 RBI. It would be saddening to see Delgado call it quits at this time. He has been an amazing power hitter throughout his career and has always been a stand up guy, a true Class Act.
