Super Tuesday Preview

Hoops junkies everywhere can rejoice since there is a handful of big time college action tonight that will supply a much needed fix. It’s the middle of winter and some teams already find themselves in must-win situations. Others just need to stay focused and keep closing out the competition. Here’s a look at the match-ups this evening.

Tuesday Night Games to watch:

Tennessee vs. Alabama

The Vols are on a roll and tonight in Tuscaloosa they have a chance to pick up their third SEC win. On the other hand, the Tide better be hungry after two straight losses and a top 10 team coming to invade their house.

Clemson vs. Georgia Tech

Both teams have been quietly making moves in the ACC and this matchup and this one should go down to the wire. With Carolina struggling, the winner of this game just might have the best chance to make a run at Duke

Purdue vs. Illinois

Purdue has been playing soft lately and the time is now for them to man up in the Big 10. This road game is very close to a must win situation. Meanwhile, the Illini have collected themselves after a very rough start to the season. Look out for Mike Tisdale to have a big game tonight, after a very poor performance against Michigan State.

Northern Iowa vs. Wichita St.

Unless you live near, attend or have some genuine affliation to one of these schools, why watch this game? Because Northern Iowa, ranked 22nd in the nation, is having a dream season and are playing like a justified NCAA tournament team.

Monday Night Rundown:

Purple Praise: Kansas Sate was in the national spotlight against Texas, and they never blinked. What a win last night for the Wildcats, who seem to be playing better each week. This team is well coached and has the right attitude that will help keep them grounded despite all of the newfound attention flowing their way. Most people are convinced that the Big 12 Champ will be KU or Texas. After the way K State played last night, I'm not sold on that just yet.

'Cuse Abuse On Irish: Syracuse had a great win last night in South Bend. Watching this game, it just seemd like the Orangemen were in control the whole way. Andy Rautins is developing into one of the best shooters in the nation. He can be inconsistent and streaky, but the kid is always willing and eager to take the big shot.

No Mess In Texas: Sure, the Longhorns lost night night, but it aint the end of the world in Austin. They faced a hungry team last night and could not stand up to the hostile enviroment. This is not a worry, because this team will be ready for a huge game against UConn this Saturday. If not, then cue the Tom Petty music, because Texas just might be free falling out of the Top 10.
