Modest Gronkowski Makes History

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has become one of the best in the league in just his second year. But to him, this season has just been business as usual.

Gronkowski told Class Act Sports exclusively, after his 113-yard, two-touchdown performance in a 37-16 win over the Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on November 13,

“It’s an unreal experience coming out here playing for the Patriots organization. It’s crazy, it’s a dream come true and it’s a great time here.”

The second-year tight end who played his college ball at Arizona, helped the Patriots clinch the AFC East for the third year in a row and has become one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets.

“You just gotta take it day-by-day, year-by-year and practice-by-practice. You just never know what’s going to happen so you just have to keep working hard.”

Gronkowski has been working hard and it paid off. In the 2011 season, he broke the single-season record for yards in a season (1,327) and touchdowns (17) by a tight end. He also made his first Pro Bowl. So what is the key to Gronkowski’s success?

“Working hard in the practice area and going up getting the ball where no one else can catch it.”
